  महात्मा गांधी  जी का जन्म 2 अक्टूबर 1869 को पोरबंदर (Porbander) में हुआ था। गांधी जी के पिता का नाम करमचंद गांधी (Karamchand Gandhi) था और उनकी माता का नाम पुतलीबाई (Putlibai)  था।

 संत कबीरदास के गुरू संत श्री रामानंद जी थे ।

   कबीर दास जी का जन्म सन् 1398 ई के आसपास लहरतारा ताल, काशी के समक्ष हुआ था । उनके जन्म के विषय में भी अलग-अलग मत हैं। कुछ लोग उन्हें हिन्दू मानते हैं तो कुछ लोग कहते हैं कि उनका जन्म एक मुस्लिम परिवार में हुआ था ।
